“… In Klondike Colours, in which each page features original line drawings by Canadian artist Andrée Bélanger, modern-day tourists with cameras and RVs explore the Klondike alongside stampede-era prospectors and gussied-up dancehall girls. The ghosts of Dawson past roam every page, just as they stroll the streets of the real-world Dawson in period (or not-so-period) costume, and sit rustily inside display cases filled with aesthetically pleasing ye olden goods. …”
And more goodness!
Thanks for the shout-out Becky! It was so lovely meeting you and getting to show you around town a bit!
It seems that in France, it`s very popular for adults to use colouring books to de-stress!
Which do you like best? Give it a “like” if it’s your fave! Email me your Klondike Colours art, and I’ll add it to the gallery. (Or if yours is here and unattributed, please, let me know.)
There are many more photos to come, and a few videos… but for your first glance, below we have one of our young volunteers sporting his Klondike Colours tshirt, and showing off his coloured page! This young man was our excellent Colouring Station Supervisor, and did a bang up job with that and many other launch tasks… and he did a great job colouring to boot! Thanks Bo!
You are cordially invited to join us on Sunday, May 18th for the launch of Klondike Colours! For those in Dawson City, this is your one and only chance to get your copy of Klondike Colours personally signed by the artist, so please do drop by and say hi!
Andrée Bélanger will also be exhibiting her newest artwork.
As a special treat, storyteller Marie-Claude Dufresne will be joining us at about 5:30pm. She will be debuting a special new story for this select audience!
Thank you to all who voted! Here, for your sneak-a-peek viewing pleasure is “dog parking” from Klondike Colours!
